Being the music that exclusively loved and enjoyed by not so many people as pop music nowadays, jazz was not originally created to become so exclusive in its early days. Descended from wreck time music, jazz gradually develops and adds some complexity into its element.

Rag is the towel or cloth that the slaves usually use to clean their sweat. Ragtime music is the rhythm that they were usually played when while they were resting from their heavy daily work. The rhythm was played by using whatever the slaves can find in their resting place. It was then develop into a music that usually played by the African American in the late 19th century. It was then develop into what so called ragtime music in 1890’s.

A former salves child used to play this ragtime music from club to club through out the country. Scott Joplin was his name. He is perhaps the most popular ragtime musician. By playing piano from club to club he popularized the ragtime music. Since then the ragtime music, the very early jazz type, widely recognized and was loved by the American. At the time being the jazz is widely know as an exclusive type of music. When it was descended from some cheap slave’s music it now transcends into an exclusive music.
