History of Music

Music is part of our life. Music is an art which made from sound. Music is composed by pitch, dynamics, timbre, and rhythm. Music comes from the word Muses, from Greek. Ancient Indian and Greek philosopher defined music as the harmony of spheres. Today, you can find many kinds of music such as hip hop music, rock music, pop music, jazz music, orchestra, etc. Every kinds of music give many differences of color.

Hip hop music is beginning in Bronx, New York City in the 1970s. The players usually are African Americans, Jamaican Americans and Latino Americans. Their music is comes from stylistic elements like beatboxing, scratching, Djing, rapping and sampling. Their music is usually called rapping. Hip hop usually played by a rapper and they will play hip hop in a disco. Rock music is a popular music. It began at 1950s. Rock music has their typical instrument by guitar back beat, bass guitar, keyboard and drum. A group of talented people which play rock music is called a rock band. They consist of guitarist, drummer, singer, bass guitarist. Usually there are four players in a rock band, but sometimes less than four. Jazz music is a favorite music which began at 20th century in African American. It comes from America, so if there is no America, there is no jazz. Pop music is a music genre which developed in 1950s it is softer than rock and roll. It is modern commercial music, it has up-tempo, tunefull and repetitive.

Today, many musicians have developed jazz music, pop music and rock and roll to entertaining people.
